Factory fill: The factory fill oil is a high zinc oil with an ideal synthetic base viscosity which requires very little viscosity modifiers and therefore a much more stable oil. The viscosity is classified as 15w-50 but what makes it especially great is that it sustains great viscosity at high temperatures and contains a high level of zinc phosphorus. This oil should not be changed out on new machines after break-in and should remain the system for the first full interval. This oil is compatible with Mobil 1 and may be mixed. We offer this oil by the bottle and upon request we may sell it by the tote (275 gal). This oil will maximize the change interval and extend the life of the drive system in nearly all lawn mower hydrostatic applications. Although we recommend 500hr oil changes, our testing has shown that this oil retains the required properties beyond 2000hrs.
Recommended Oil: In recent years we have seen a reduction of zinc and an increase in viscosity modifiers in Mobil 1. We often get the question, “can I use XYZ oil in my machine” and the answer is always no. Do not use tractor hydrostatic oil or transmission oil as these often contain friction modifiers for wet clutches. Do not use non-synthetic or synthetic blend oils because they will not maintain the shear resistance required. The critical criteria are the ideal operating viscosity of 13cSt and the minimum viscosity of 9cSt at max intermittent operating temperature (~230F). Approved alternative oils include: Mobil 1 15-w50 and Aero Shell 15w50. Aero Shell is listed as an alternative because it has a high viscosity index, ashless additives, does not contain the diesel engine additives that heavier weight oils contain, and is globally available for purchase on-line or at any small airport. 20-w50 IS NOT recommended because it is an indication that it is not a 100% synthetic oil.
Hydro-Gear branded oil and service kits are NOT recommended for Wright pump and motor systems. Although these products are great for fairly standardized transmission based systems, they do not meet the synthetic oil standards required by Wright pump and motor systems.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS:

Machine wash separately in cold water on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry separately on low heat. Add QE Home Wool Dryer Balls to reduce wrinkles and increases drying efficiency. Touch up with a low heat iron as needed. Do not bleach or dry clean.
